Welcome To The New Hartford Business Council

"All Aboard for Better Business"

The New Hartford Business Council was formed in 1987 to promote the local business community through community activities. Promoting networking among our members and neighboring businesses enables us to foster a positive business environment and create opportunities for people to spend their dollars locally. We look forward to welcoming you and your business as part of the New Hartford Business Council.

Our NHBC membership has been growing substantially. The linked association between NHBC and the Canton Chamber of Commerce has brought with it greater opportunities for networking, and additional business contacts. NHBC members have been offered a reduced rate to join the Canton Chamber of Commerce.

Together we are working to advance the economic development of the business community.

Internship Program

In 2013, our President, Paul Amenta, proposed we start an internship program with our local high school, Northwestern and our NHBC member businesses.  Our first year proved very successful and has paved the way for future interns and businesses to work together.

Students or businesses that would like to be involved in the internship program are encouraged to contact Paul Amenta via email.

NHBC Dues Increase

Dear Members of the New Hartford Business Council,

As in all businesses and organizations, one of our priorities is to keep costs at the lowest possible impact to all. For longer than I have been a member, the dues for joining just the Business Council has been at $75.00.

In order to maintain and raise our level of service to our members, it is necessary to raise our dues by $10.00 per year. The primary reason for the increase is due to the following expenses:  website, insurance, our events  (business after hours and monthly morning minglers), the scholarship program (with a goal of increasing that support) and advertising. Our biggest expense is maintenance of our website and a major overhaul of our insurance coverage.

The NHBC loves to hear your feedback about how your membership in the the council is benefiting your business, and to let others know the value of becoming a NHBC member, we are adding a Testimonial Section.  We would love it if you would share your experiences with us about how the council has made your business more successful.

Internship Program Update

Intern Program Looking Ahead To 2014 – 2015 Semesters

The New Hartford Business Council Intern Program with Northwestern Regional High School is well into its first session and has proved to be a tremendous success. An “update” meeting was recently held, and all the businesses and Northwestern Regional students involved expressed positive thoughts about the program. This year the program will conclude at the end of April.

Another great reason to attend events!  The New Hartford Business Council has started a new incentive program for its members.  Every time you attend a Business After Hours event you will be able to enter your business into a raffle to win a business card sized ad in the New Hartford Independent newspaper, courtesy of the NHBC.  Another great reason why you will want to start attending the NHBC events besides the camaraderie, the goodies and the great business contacts you can make!
